Susan

Office Manager 

Susan grew up in Big Stone Gap, VA and earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Carson-Newman College in 1984. She and her family moved to Salem in 1993, and she joined our team in 1999. Susan has two beautiful daughters and three amazing grandsons that she adores!  She and her husband John enjoy outdoor activities and watching movies but spending time their family brings her the greatest joy!  

Our office is a better place because of Susan. You’ll find that she can help you with any questions you may have with her excellent customer service, and she’ll do so with a warm and friendly smile. Susan loves our morning prayer for patients and staff members and the feeling of “family” in our office. She really enjoys getting to know the patients and appreciates the laughter they often bring to her day. Susan is fun loving, compassionate and quite the comedian! PS – she loves shoes!

Tammy

Patient Care Coordinator 

Tammy was born and raised in the Star City. After attending the University of Virginia, she married her wonderful husband of 44 years, Kirby. They have two awesome grown kids, Katie and Tyler, and 3 amazing grandchildren who bring them much joy. After a career in the graphic arts industry she joined our practice in 2006.  Tammy enjoys Motown, oldies, movies, quilting, and loves spending time at Myrtle Beach with her family. Her life verse is Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path.”

Tammy is often the first person you’ll see when you enter our office. She’ll welcome you and make you feel like a member of our family with her caring and contagious smile. Tammy has a creative touch and is tech savvy, yet fun and often unpredictable! She is willing to go the extra mile for staff and patients alike. Chocolate chip cookies are her specialty.

Elisha

Insurance Coordinator 

Elisha also hails from our great city of Roanoke.  Elisha has experience in multiple fields in the business industry but her background with insurance makes her a priceless asset to our office.  Our office will gladly submit your insurance claims. Elisha wants to help you understand and take full advantage of your insurance.  Insurance can be very confusing but Elisha is always here to help in anyway she can! Elisha is a proud mom to her two boys: KJ and Seth.  Elisha and her husband Joel have a passion for working in the community and even volunteer for many church programs. 

Elisha is truly a gem!  Her heart of gold shines through with everyone she meets.  Elisha’s  meticulous attention to detail and keen memory doesn’t let anything get by her!              

Gail, RDH

Dental Hygienist


Gail grew up in Roanoke and is a 1993 graduate of the Virginia Western Community College dental hygiene program. She is married to Chris Burton and together they are raising three adorable daughters, Anna, Grace and Abbey. Gail is very proud of being a Mom and loves cheering on her girls as they swim for the C.C.A. Marlins and other school sports. An avid runner, Gail has completed two marathons, and now has developed a new love for trail running.

Gail wins the award for the employee who has been with “Dr. R” the longest . . . 20 years! She puts patient education first, is hard working, genuine, and truly cares about her patients. She loves the Lord and is a prayer warrior for our staff as well as patients. She always wants to make your smile and your dental experience unforgettable.

Anita, RDH

Dental Hygienist


Anita is a native Roanoker who graduated from Virginia Western Community College with a degree in Dental Hygiene in 1981. She has served our practice as one of our hygienists for more than 27 years and really enjoys working in a Christian office. She is married to Doug, and is the proud mom of two grown sons, Ben, Brian and daughter-in-law Amanda.  She is now the grandmother to a sweet baby girl, Emma. In her spare time, she loves cooking and baking (and the office staff especially appreciates and enjoys her special treats!) Anita also enjoys reading, hiking, canoeing and scuba diving.

Anita’s positive energy will make your day better! Her favorite part of her job is getting to know her patients personally and helping to care for their individual dental needs. She never meets a stranger and counts all of her patients as friends. Anita always puts others first and has a true servant’s heart towards everyone she encounters. We are proud to have this loving, hard working, ball of energy in our office. Look high and low but you won’t find a kinder, giving, more genuine person anywhere in this world . . . She is truly a blessing.

Kim, RDH 

Dental Hygienist 

Kim grew up in Roanoke and is a 1985 graduate of the Virginia Western Community College dental hygiene program.  Kim has been with the practice since 2013.  Kim also stays busy teaching cycling and other various classes at the Kirk YMCA.  She’s been teaching fitness classes for over 25 years!  Kim also loves to stay busy in the kitchen with baking and cooking.     

Kim will always make you feel at ease whether she’s your hygienist or fitness instructor.  Kim’s personality is contagious and so welcoming.   Kim makes her patients her first priority and will always put your health first.  We are so lucky to have such an experienced, kind, and loving hygienist like Kim in our office.   

Jill, CDA

Dental Assistant


A Roanoke native, Jill completed the dental assisting program at Virginia Western Community College and took the Dental Assisting National Boards (DANB) to obtain her certification in 1982. She has worked in dentistry in the Roanoke Valley for over 35 years. She joined our practice in 1996. Jill married her best friend from high school, Terry, in 1984. They have two grown children, Jason and Amanda.  Her real pride in joy is her grand daughter, Isabella. Her hobbies include gardening and bird-watching. Because of her love of wildlife Jill loves volunteering for Southwest Virginia Wildlife Center doing wildlife rehabilitation. She has earned a category IV permit in wildlife rehab.

From patients to dogs to birds – Jill has a big heart that is full of love! She has a great way of making anxious patients feel at ease in the dental chair. She truly cares about their dental health and is very knowledgeable and experienced. She has a special affection for our little patients and they are drawn to her as well!
