Meet the Doctors:

Dr. William O. Roller, Jr

A native Virginian, Dr. Roller grew up in Big Stone Gap and graduated from Powell Valley High School. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1984, and graduated from Indiana University School of Dentistry in Indianapolis, Indiana in June 1987.

Dr. Roller has been married since 1984 to Amy, a registered nurse. He and Amy moved to Roanoke in July of 1987 to begin his practice.  They

 have two young adult children, Abby and Hannah who are married to James and Ben respectively.  Dr. Roller and Amy are proud grandparents of Liam, Beau, Emma Kate, Cora and Evelyn.     

Dr. Roller is a member of the American Dental Association, the Virginia Dental Association, and the Roanoke Valley Dental Society. He is also a preferred Provider with Invisalign.  He enjoys participating in many continuing education courses each year so that he can offer his patients excellent dentistry in light of current practice trends.

He loves to travel, and as a family they have served on multiple Christian mission teams to various international destinations through their church. His other interests include cars, history, reading, and enjoying spending time on the lake.  

Dr. Roller is an all-around amazing person and mentor to many. He is the life of the party and is quite a fun-loving, jovial, and compassionate person. His passion for dentistry and people shine through his daily interactions with everyone he treats. Dr. Roller is a devoted family man, and  is a perfectionist when it comes to dentistry. He always goes the extra mile and makes everyone feel like family.  Many of Dr. Roller’s patients have been seeing him for over 25 years and he has built an excellent practice!  

Dr. Amanda J. Johnson

Dr. Johnson hails from the Blue Grass State: raised in Flemingsburg, Kentucky she graduated from Fleming County High School in  2001.  Following high school,  she attended the University of Kentucky where she earned a Bachelors Degree in Biology.  Dr. Johnson then earned her Doctorate of Dentistry from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry.  After dental school she went into private practice in Lexington, Kentucky and then worked in a group practice in Baltimore, Maryland. She moved to Roanoke in 2013. Dr. Johnson stays busy with her three children, Cooper, Camryn and Connor. 

She enjoys all areas of general dentistry, with a particular interest in restorative and cosmetic dentistry.  Dr. Johnson attends many continuing education courses to further improve her practice of dental procedures and techniques.  She participates in the Roanoke Valley Dental Study Club and is a member of the Piedmont Dental Society, Virginia Dental Association and American Dental Association.  Dr. Johnson’s goal is to exceed all patient expectations by providing the best dental care in a gentle, relaxing environment. 

When not practicing dentistry Dr. Johnson enjoys cooking, decorating and working on home projects.  The Johnson family attends Southwest Community Church.

Dr. Johnson has accomplished quite a bit at her young age.  Not only is she is an outstanding dentist, but she is a loving, wonderful mom and also possesses a great sense of humor. She is very thorough and explains dental procedures well to each and every patient. She is very down to earth and her inner beauty just radiates through her bubbly and contagious smile. Dr. Johnson has a caring and compassionate disposition and she truly cares about people. We are proud to have this sweet spirit on our team.

Dr. Ellyn Harper 

Dr. Ellyn Harper is new to the Roanoke area, moving here after getting married November 2021. She is a native of West Virginia and attended WVU for her studies. Dr. Harper earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology in 2013, her Master of Public Health Degree in 2016, and her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2020. Dr. Harper has worked in the dental field for over 13 years, starting as a sterilization assistant in a pediatric and orthodontic practice in her hometown. There, she worked her way up and spent eight years as a dental assistant before attending dental school.

She loves dentistry and most importantly taking care of her patients and the community. In her free time, Dr. Harper enjoys singing in church, cooking at home, and spending time with friends and family. She is enjoying her new home of Roanoke and loves sharing new experiences with her husband Sean, stepson, and new puppy, Poppy.
